Aniara (2019)

A passenger spacecraft's diversion becomes a way to watch a society respond to the loss of a believable destination. Pella Kågerman and Hugo Lilja use familiar leisure spaces to make the situation disquietingly ordinary. This Swedish adaptation is an especially bleak discovery: collective despair, sexual material and suicide are part of its examination of living without an expected future.
