The American (2010)

George Clooney gives a weapons specialist's attempt to remain controlled a revealing physical restraint. Anton Corbijn lets an Italian town's spaces and rhythms carry a great deal of the suspense. Choose this quieter discovery for exact movement and accumulated unease; it offers little of the brisk banter or constant action that its star's presence might suggest.
