The Hit (1984)

Terence Stamp's strangely calm informer unsettles the two men sent to collect him, played by John Hurt and Tim Roth. Stephen Frears lets a journey through Spain become a changing contest of temperament. The film's dry humour is part of the tension, making professional violence look less controlled whenever the people involved stop behaving as expected.
