Hyun Bin

After the protective officer in Crash Landing on You, The Fatal Encounter (2014) offers Hyun as King Jeongjo, himself under threat of assassination. The setting shifts from romantic adventure to a compressed palace thriller. His contained dignity becomes a defence against surrounding intrigue, while the physical action gives another outlet to the vigilance that helps make his television role compelling.
