Day of the Outlaw (1959)
Movie
Released
André de Toth traps a small community in snow, where an existing conflict becomes more dangerous with the arrival of armed outsiders. Robert Ryan gives the changing situation an abrasive human centre. Its severe black-and-white setting makes this a compact discovery in which endurance and exposure matter more than a reassuring display of gunfighting skill.
