Fred L. Turner

Turner helped turn McDonald's operating knowledge into a repeatable development system through Hamburger University. Having begun on the restaurant floor himself, he developed training that could support managers across an expanding chain. By 2013, McDonald's described seven campuses worldwide. The strength of the example is the institution built around operational skills, rather than Turner's personal rise alone.
