Masami Nagasawa

A wife's irritation becomes a way into an alien-invasion story in Before We Vanish (2017). Nagasawa's Narumi has to respond to a husband whose familiar behaviour has vanished, holding domestic frustration against something increasingly strange. Kingdom (2019) offers a bolder contrast: as the mountain leader Yotanwa, she projects authority through posture and command. Both are genre films, but one asks you to study a relationship and the other to enjoy a sweeping adventure.
