Children of Men (2006)

Alfonso Cuarón makes a world without children feel lived-in through the crowded backgrounds as much as the central journey. The celebrated extended action sequences preserve the vulnerability of bodies inside the spectacle. Its most powerful image of hope comes from people briefly recognising something before violence resumes.
