Richard Mofe-Damijo

Mofe-Damijo's television work in Checkmate and films such as Diamond Ring (1998) place him in the generation that carried screen familiarity into the video market. The Wedding Party (2016) later uses him within a large, stylish comic ensemble. His career is useful for tracking continuity: the move towards cinema events did not simply replace older stars, but gave established performers new kinds of families, status games and audiences to play to.
