Mahmoud Abdel Aziz

In The Kit Kat (1991), Abdel Aziz plays Sheikh Hosni, a blind man whose desires and escapades animate a Cairo neighbourhood. The role gives him room for humour, stubbornness and vulnerability without making the character merely an emblem of hardship. Choose it for a different kind of star vehicle: the neighbourhood and its people matter as much as the charisma of the man moving through them.
