Sadiq Khan

Khan introduced London's Hopper fare in September 2016, initially allowing two bus or tram journeys within an hour for one fare. It was expanded to unlimited qualifying transfers in 2018. This addressed a particular disadvantage for passengers whose journeys required changing buses. Unlike building a new route, the policy changed the cost of using the existing network; its usefulness still depended on where services ran and how frequently they arrived.
