The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)

A journey earns its scale by first giving the travellers a home worth missing. Peter Jackson makes landscapes, dangerous objects and fragile alliances carry the adventure, with a warmth the battles never erase. The best entry point to this trilogy; it deliberately leaves the quest unfinished, so set aside time for the two continuations.
