The Wizard of Oz (1939)

A change in colour opens a world where every companion makes Dorothy's journey more meaningful. Songs, sharply differentiated comic personalities and sinister storybook landscapes give this 1939 American fantasy a visual logic that remains inviting even when the witches and flying monkeys make it frightening.
