Paddington 2 (2017)

Kindness becomes a surprisingly effective comic engine when every London encounter can change the story. The pop-up-book sequence, prison kitchen and runaway train reward children as adventures and adults as beautifully built filmmaking. A brief underwater peril sequence is the main sharper scare in an otherwise generous starting choice.
