Nocturna (2007)

The 2007 Spanish-French animation imagines the night as a place with workers and routines, turning a child's fear of the dark into a visual adventure. Its distinctive design deserves more space beside the usual bedtime-film choices. The subject can itself be unsettling, so the reassurance works best when the child is ready for the shadows.
