Seu Jorge

In Marighella, Seu Jorge takes the central role of Carlos Marighella in Wagner Moura's Brazilian political biopic. The film moves from the performer's familiar musical identity into a forceful account of resistance to the military dictatorship. Choose it for a substantial dramatic lead and a confrontational view of Brazilian political history; its violent, partisan perspective makes it a different experience from a conventional rise-to-fame biography.
