Alice Braga

Lower City (Brazil, 2005) places Braga's Karinna between two friends working around Salvador's waterfront. Desire and jealousy make the triangle volatile, but her character's own search for a life matters as much as the men's rivalry. The film offers an early, substantial Brazilian role to explore, with an intimate, sweaty physicality and a harshness that feels far from polished action-star storytelling.
