The Fabulous Baron Munchausen (1962)

Live actors seem to inhabit an antique illustrated book in Karel Zeman's 1962 Czechoslovak fantasy. The moon, the sea and extravagant inventions share one playful visual logic, making it an inviting discovery for anyone who associates screen fantasy mainly with modern effects. Follow the fanciful detours rather than expecting a tightly connected quest.
