Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011)

Gary Oldman makes withheld reaction an unusually expressive form of professional attention. Tomas Alfredson gives offices, files and silent observation a dense practical texture. The intricate espionage plot rewards concentration, with the lasting pleasure lying in how betrayal changes the meaning of a familiar colleague's smallest gesture.
