The Painting (2011)

Visual differences have become a social hierarchy among characters left unfinished by their painter. Jean-François Laguionie sends them between artistic styles in a French adventure that lets technique carry its ideas about exclusion. The explanatory dialogue is sometimes less graceful than the imagery, but the painted world offers discoveries a familiar studio fantasy would rarely attempt.
