The Illusionist (2010)

A travelling magician's small gestures carry the melancholy of an art losing its audience. Sylvain Chomet's hand-drawn cities and almost wordless exchanges make looking closely the main pleasure. This is the 2010 animated film developed from Jacques Tati's screenplay, not the live-action Edward Norton film; choose it for restraint rather than frequent jokes.
