Iger expanded Disney's portfolio through Pixar, Marvel and Lucasfilm, bringing characters and creative businesses into a company able to distribute them across films, merchandise and attractions. The much larger Fox transaction in 2019 added further content and control of Hulu. These deals illustrate the appeal of buying established intellectual property, alongside the financing and integration demands that grow with the price.
