This older exception moves almost entirely into the jury room, where Henry Fonda's patience meets Lee J. Cobb's escalating fury. The supporting actors make hesitation, embarrassment and stubbornness feel different from one another. Watching someone change a small physical habit can matter as much as a decisive argument. Its enduring invitation is to study an ensemble under pressure, rather than a parade of courtroom speeches.

About 12 Angry Men
The defense and the prosecution have rested and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young Spanish-American is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open and shut case soon becomes a mini-drama of each of the jurors' prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, and each other.
