Oprah Winfrey

The 2000 Oprah Winfrey Show discussion of The Bluest Eye brings Toni Morrison together with readers, allowing a book conversation to become an encounter between different experiences. Winfrey's open enthusiasm helps make difficult literature approachable, while her questions connect writing to the lives of people hearing it. Her presence is a large part of the programme, so this is not an unobtrusive interviewing style. Choose it for the energy of a host who wants an audience to join the conversation.
