Victoria Coren Mitchell

Only Connect asks players to find relationships between clues, so its host has to make a baffling answer intelligible after the reveal. Coren Mitchell combines that explanatory role with deadpan humour and affection for the programme's oddness. The questions can be forbidding, but her manner makes enthusiasm for obscure knowledge feel welcome. Choose this for the pleasure of understanding a connection you did not spot, as well as the occasional triumph of getting there first.
