The 1952 Eisenhower Answers America advertisements compressed political television into brief question-and-answer spots. Reeves filmed Eisenhower's answers separately from the members of the public whose questions appeared with them. The apparent conversation was a production technique, not a spontaneous exchange. His contribution is especially clear when these short advertisements are compared with the lengthy televised speeches of the same campaign.
