Siobhán McSweeney

McSweeney's Great Pottery Throw Down hosting combines irreverent humour with an unusually explicit sense of responsibility towards people unused to television. She has described adjusting her teasing to each potter and keeping herself composed when someone needs reassurance or information. That judgement makes the jokes feel like part of the welcome. Choose a demanding challenge and its aftermath for the full range: she can enjoy the absurdity of a moment while still taking the maker's investment in their work seriously.
