Iggy Pop

The contrast between Pop's stage reputation and his reflective conversational manner is only the beginning of the interest. His 2016 Red Bull Music Academy discussion with Carl Wilson moves from early musical education to performance, literary influences and the possibilities of a different singing voice. He explains decisions with humour and a willingness to consider his own limitations. Start with that extended conversation for an artist who can describe the thinking behind apparently instinctive music without draining away its energy.
