Michele Ferrero inherited the family confectionery business and greatly expanded it, including the launch of Nutella in 1964. He belongs here as a builder of an existing enterprise, not as its original founder. Product development, recognisable brands and international distribution made repeat purchases of spreads and sweets the basis of family wealth.
