Jerry Moyes

Moyes founded Swift Transportation and built a large trucking business through expansion and acquisitions. Its history includes public ownership, a founder-led buyout and the later combination with Knight. Those changes matter to the fortune story because an ownership stake can be refinanced or exchanged; the size of a truck fleet alone does not establish an individual’s net worth.
