Werner von Siemens

Siemens turned inventions such as the pointer telegraph into a manufacturing and installation business with international customers. Telegraph equipment, cables and electrical machinery connected workshop expertise to large infrastructure contracts. Ownership remained within the family during his lifetime, allowing technical development and overseas expansion to accumulate value in the enterprise he had founded with Johann Georg Halske.
