Jimmy Buffett

Parrot Head clubs turned enthusiasm for Buffett's music and tropical imagery into recurring local social events with a charitable purpose. Groups such as the Arizona and San Diego clubs document fundraising and volunteer work alongside parties and concerts. The tradition is more organised than a costume worn for one evening: members build continuing relationships through a shared musical reference point. These independent clubs offer a concrete example of fandom becoming community activity, without implying that every Buffett listener joins a club or takes part in its projects.
