Theo Albrecht

Aldi Nord was the part of the family grocery business developed by Theo Albrecht after he and his brother Karl divided their operations. Sparse stores and a narrow product range reduced the complexity of stocking and selling everyday goods. Ownership of that expanding network created Theo's fortune. The brothers shared an origin in their mother's shop, but their later wealth came from distinct retail businesses.
