Gerald D. Hines

Hines made architectural quality part of an office-development business founded in 1957. The firm combined development and ownership with investment management as it expanded internationally. Its 2017 report identified Gerald and his son Jeffrey as the owners of the main partnership, while also explaining that individual investments could have other participants. That distinction separates a valuable family business from the much larger portfolio of property it manages.
