Aubrey Plaza

April Ludgate in Parks and Recreation often answers workplace enthusiasm with a flat response or an unreadable look. Plaza makes that withholding useful: a small change of expression becomes noticeable because so little is offered at first. Start with April’s early office scenes, then watch how the character develops relationships without losing her dry delivery. This is a particular comic performance within a much broader acting career, not a reason to assume the actor shares every aspect of April’s personality.
