Steven Wright
Person
I Have a Pony offers an especially clear introduction to Wright’s low, unhurried delivery. The observations frequently move into impossible logic, but the voice does little to announce that anything unusual has happened. Listen for the gap after an idea lands: it gives the audience time to recognise the contradiction before the next one arrives. The appeal is not simply a collection of short jokes, but the consistency of a performer who makes absurd propositions sound like routine information.
