Jigsaw uses an account of relationships and an extended puzzle analogy to question the assumption that being coupled is automatically better than being single. Sloss allows the argument to develop through anecdote before making its wider implications explicit. Start with the whole special, because the later section relies on the expectations built earlier. His inclusion is for that progression from personal story to a larger idea, not for treating a comedian’s relationship advice as a rule that should govern someone else’s life.
