Dara Ó Briain

This Is the Show places Ó Briain’s conversations with the audience alongside his prepared routines, making it a good introduction to the way the two can reinforce each other. An occupation or an unexpected answer becomes material he can question, extend and recall later. Listen to the follow-up rather than just the first response. His fast delivery is impressive, but the more useful skill is keeping the exchange understandable to everyone else in the room, so a conversation with one person becomes a shared joke.
