Renato Zucchelli moves his flock around a Milan that leaves less space for his work. Marco Bonfanti makes that conflict visible by bringing pastoral labour into the city's everyday sightlines. This affectionate portrait is strongest as a particular travelling shepherd's claim to space; its title should not be mistaken for evidence that shepherding has disappeared from Italy.
