Kanan Gill

Gill offers a route into Indian English-language stand-up that does not depend on a running explanation of national differences. Is This It? examines ambition, ageing and the possibility that achieving a goal will not settle anything, while What Is This? took his work to the Melbourne and Edinburgh festivals. Choose him for carefully developed, increasingly abstract ideas rather than a sequence of culture-clash anecdotes. The cross-cultural interest lies in how a specific comic voice brings those larger questions to audiences beyond its home circuit.
