Ben Miller
Person
Miller’s commitment to a sketch’s absurd circumstances makes a good companion to Alexander Armstrong’s apparent ease. The RAF pilots are a compact introduction: period bearing and adolescent priorities occupy the same conversation without either performer acknowledging the mismatch. Death in Paradise offers a longer-form comparison through Richard Poole, a detective whose formal habits clash with his surroundings. Choose Miller if you enjoy characters trying to preserve dignity under pressure; the comic tension can remain visible even when the scene also has a mystery to solve.
