Rogério Ceni

Ceni turned a goalkeeper's set-piece ability into a sustained attacking resource for São Paulo. His free kicks were practised scoring attempts, not occasional adventures at a late corner; Guinness records 59 competitive free-kick goals. FIFA's report on the 2005 Club World Championship also identified his leadership and penalty-area authority. The combination matters: adding a specialist attacking duty did not remove the need to do the central defensive job at an exceptional level.
