Raymond G. Perelman

Raymond and Ruth Perelman's 2011 gift of $225 million created a permanent endowment for Penn's medical school. The school received their names, but the university also identified financial aid, recruitment of physicians and scientists, and research as intended uses. This was distinct from their earlier contribution to a clinical building. Raymond should not be confused with his son Ronald, whose separate philanthropic record involves other gifts and institutions.
