Chuck Feeney

Feeney's Atlantic Philanthropies began supporting the Cornell Tradition in 1982, combining undergraduate work, service and scholarship. Cornell later recorded nearly $41 million in support for the programme and more than 6,000 students helped. Its final Atlantic grant in 2016 strengthened operating and international-service endowments. His wider Cornell giving included buildings, but these fellowships and student-loan relief show why the relationship cannot be reduced to construction.
