Ronda Stryker

Stryker and her husband, William Johnston, announced a $100 million gift to Spelman in 2024. The college allocated $75 million to endowed scholarships and the remainder to public-policy study, housing and flexible strategic needs. Scholarship support was therefore the largest stated component, rather than an incidental addition to a building project. The allocation describes the gift's intended use; it is not evidence that all scholarship funds had already been spent on students that year.
