David Geffen

Geffen's 2012 gift of $100 million established scholarships at UCLA's medical school covering the costs of attendance for selected students, including tuition, accommodation and books. The programme was designed to support a substantial share of each entering class, rather than every medical student. It is distinct from his earlier gift that named the school: this contribution directly changed how recipients could finance their training.
