Bloomberg's 2010 letter said nearly all his net worth would be given away in subsequent years or left to his foundation. It therefore described two routes: giving while alive and an eventual charitable legacy. His account favoured earlier support where it could help people sooner, but did not publish a universal deadline for the whole fortune. Leaving assets to a foundation is also different from that foundation immediately distributing all of them to operating charities.
