Luis Suárez (Uruguayan footballer)

Suárez's runs did more than offer a route to his own shot. Barcelona Innovation Hub research used tracking data to distinguish occupying space from creating it for others, with his ability to pull defenders away a telling example. The analysis concerned a particular match, not a universal career ranking. It nevertheless offers a useful way to watch him: when a marker follows his run, look at the teammate who can use the space left behind.
