Thomas Müller

Thomas Müller belongs here as a second striker and roaming forward, rather than a fixed centre-forward. His gift is finding the position that makes the next action easier, including a run that benefits a teammate. UEFA's analysis of Bayern against Real Madrid in 2024 highlighted a sequence in which he left the ball and moved to support Sané's route forward. Looking only for touches misses the point: the movement can change the defender's choices even when Müller never receives the pass.
