Mare of Easttown (2021)

A Pennsylvania detective knows the people around a murder investigation too well to keep the case separate from daily life. Like True Detective, it lets work, grief and damaged relationships erode professional distance. The attraction is the community's overlapping histories, with a more concentrated emotional centre and a finite central investigation.
